Travis and Jason Kelce couldn’t contain their excitement when announcing the latest guest on the ‘New Heights’ podcast: Caitlin Clark.
Clark arguably is one of the biggest stars in the WNBA, taking the league by storm as a rookie and helping lead the Indiana Fever reach the playoffs for the first time since 2016. The star guard enamored fans around the country with her shooting ability and vision.
With how famous Clark has become since entering the league, the Kelce brothers have gotten the basketball star onto the podcast, much to their fans delight. In the announcement video posted to social media, Clark explained just how excited she was for the opportunity to join the NFL stars.
“I don’t get excited about many things but this, this is at the top of my list,” Clark told the brothers, which led to Travis telling his older brother: “We made it, Jason.”
Of note, Clark is a big fan of Taylor Swift, the Kansas City Chiefs star’s partner. Travis and Clark met up while attending an ‘Eras Tour’ show in Indianapolis and the star tight end had nothing but positive things to say about the transcendent guard during their interaction.
“It was fun. Saw Caitlin Clark out there, got to meet Caitlin,” Kelce said regarding his meeting with the Fever star. “She loves being out there in Indianapolis, says its a fun city and were both just true Midwesterners to the heart, you know? Played high school ball, college ball, pro ball all out here in the Midwest and it was cool catching up with her.”
“She was into the show, for sure. She was there with her mom and a few friends. Shes a Swiftie, through and through. [She was] getting everybody to experience Tay up there on stage making the entire 69,000, 70,000 people go ——- nuts for four hours.
“I think this was like, her third or fourth show shes been to. Shes a Swiftie through and through, man.” In response to Clark’s devotion as a fan of Swift’s, the pop megastar is believed to watch the star guard in action next season.
The 22-year-old was very excited to see the Swift on stage. During one of the shows at Lucas Oil Stadium, Clark posted a photo on social media in awe, with the caption: “I’m fired up.”
Clark’s appearance on the podcast was teased by the Kelce brothers in December, though at the time, many fans believed it was Swift who was going to be on the show. “Another very special guest episode is going to be coming up Thursday, January 2nd,” Jason said at the time.
“We finally got someone, the 92 percenters have been demanding on the January 2nd episode. We’ve been waiting for this one for a long time. You’re going to want to see it. You’re going to want to see him or her.”
