SPORT NEWS: Jonathan Owens Teased Over Lambeau Leap Mishap During Bears’ Victory Over Packers .giang

Jonathan Owens had a moment to forget during the Chicago Bears’ 24-22 victory over the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, but it was all in good fun. The Bears safety, who is married to gymnastics superstar Simone Biles, attempted a celebratory Lambeau Leap after a first-half fumble recovery—only to fall short of the iconic crowd-jump.

Fox commentators Daryl Johnston and Kevin Kugler couldn’t resist poking fun at Owens, joking that his Olympian wife would “be shaking her head when she saw that.” The lighthearted ribbing added a touch of humor to the tense NFC North matchup.

Celebrating a Big Play

Owens, 29, tried the Lambeau Leap as part of his celebration after recovering the fumble. While his execution left room for improvement, his effort didn’t go unnoticed by fans and teammates. The Bears defense capitalized on the momentum from his play to keep the Packers’ offense under pressure throughout the game.

Simone Biles’ Sideline Support

Biles, 27, was present to cheer on her husband from the sideline, where cameras captured the couple sharing a sweet moment before kickoff. The NFL even shared photos of the duo on X (formerly Twitter), showing Biles kissing Owens as she supported him during his first season with the Bears.

The couple has become a fan favorite since tying the knot in the spring of 2023. Biles, fresh off her Paris Olympics triumph, has attended several of Owens’ games this season despite her packed schedule.

A Season of Transitions

Owens’ first season with the Bears capped off a disappointing 5-12 campaign for the team. The safety joined Chicago after spending the previous season with the Packers, making Sunday’s game a notable return to Lambeau Field. Despite the Bears’ struggles, Owens has been a solid contributor on defense, earning praise for his resilience and work ethic.

Biles, meanwhile, has had an extraordinary year. She added four more Olympic medals to her collection at the 2024 Paris Games, including three golds in the individual all-around, team all-around, and vault final, along with a silver in the floor exercise. Her accomplishments cemented her status as one of the greatest gymnasts of all time.

Owens’ Support for Biles

Earlier this year, Owens took a brief leave from Bears training camp to support Biles in Paris during the Olympics. He later gushed about her achievements on Instagram, writing, “You accomplish whatever you set your mind to, and do it with so much grace. … So proud to be your husband.”

Biles Reflects on Her Future

Biles was named Sports Illustrated’s 2024 Sportsperson of the Year on Thursday, a well-deserved honor after her remarkable comeback on the international stage. In her interview with the magazine, she hinted that her competitive days may be numbered, particularly when considering a potential run at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

“Life and death,” Biles said when asked what it would take for her to compete again. “Because I’ve accomplished so much, there’s almost nothing left to do, rather than to just be snobby and to try again—and for what? I’m at a point in my career where I’m humble enough to know when to be done.”

A Power Couple in Sports

Owens and Biles have captivated fans with their supportive relationship, balancing the demands of their respective careers while making time for each other. Whether it’s Owens cheering Biles on at the Olympics or Biles attending Bears games, the couple continues to inspire with their dedication and partnership.

While Owens may not have stuck the landing on his Lambeau Leap, his effort—combined with Biles’ unwavering support—highlighted the couple’s playful and enduring bond. Fans can’t wait to see what’s next for the duo as they tackle new challenges both on and off the field.
