BREAKING NEWS: Savannah Chrisley’s Boyfriend Robert Shiver Meets Her Mom Julie – They ‘Get Along Great,’ but Dad Todd ‘Not as Open’.giang

Savannah Chrisley and her boyfriend Robert Shiver are taking the next step in their relationship.

During a Jan. 7 conversation on Savannah’s Unlocked podcast, Shiver revealed that he has met his girlfriend’s mom, Julie Chrisley, but has yet to have the opportunity to connect with her dad Todd Chrisley as they both serve time in prison after being convicted in June 2022 of fraud and tax evasion.

“I have met your mother one time. Incredible human being,” he said. “Me and Julie, we get along great.”

However, Savannah fretted that he was not meeting “the best version of my mother.” She added, “That was really difficult for me. You’re going to visit her in a prison, and dear god, I don’t think you’ve ever thought, ‘Oh, I’m gonna go see my girlfriend’s mom in prison, meet her for the first time.’ Like, not the image anyone had ever imagined.”

When asked what was going through his mind, Shiver explained, “I was just open… It’s so easy to talk tough behind the keyboard. You know? And it’s so easy to read comments, and that’s why I just stay away from all of that stuff because all you’re going to do is go down a rabbit hole.”

He claimed that “the majority of people wanna attack you [and] they don’t wanna praise you.”

Shiver found comfort in the fact that he was already close with Savannah and her younger siblings Grayson and Chloe Chrisley.

“I’m going into this open. Like, this is somebody that you love,” he shared. “This is somebody that everybody in the car loves. And so, I went in with an open mind, and it didn’t disappoint and I had a great time with her. I think she laughed a ton.”

Savannah told Shiver that the exchange happened because “you are my mother and I am my father.” She added, “So that’s why you two get along so well.”

On the other hand, Todd “has not been as open” to meeting Shiver, according to Savannah.

“I think that’s probably rightfully so. Right?” Shiver responded. “It’s his daughter, you know? Who’s this guy? He’s got all this baggage. You know? And Todd has a tendency to be vocal on certain situations and issues.”

He added: “I don’t know if there’s many situations where nobody knows how he feels because they always know how he feels.”

News of Savannah’s relationship with Shiver, who had been married to now-ex Lindsay Shiver since 2007, broke in September 2023. Robert previously made headlines in July 2023 after he survived an alleged murder plot orchestrated by Lindsay, who is the mother of his three children, and her alleged boyfriend, Terrence Bethel.

Savannah speculated that her father might have reservations about her pick for a boyfriend, saying, “I don’t think anyone ever looks at life, and they’re like, ‘Oh, I want my kid to marry someone that’s 12 years older, that’s been divorced, that has kids.’ Like that’s not what you would want for your daughter.”

“That’s not what you would draw up,” Shiver added.

When he asked if thought he would meet Todd this year, Shiver responded, “Fingers crossed.”

As for what else is next for the couple, Savannah previously admitted that she isn’t planning on having a baby with Shiver until he is legally divorced from his ex — but she has thought about growing her family with him.

“Well, I’m not gonna have a child with someone that is still legally married,” Savannah said. “I’m not really into that.”

“But if I had a child with him and we weren’t married, like, I’m fine with that, but you just can’t be married to someone else when I have that child,” she continued. “No. Well, so that’s a whole different story.”

She thinks things will “move quick” once Shiver’s divorce is finalized.
