Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Redick has lost his home to the Pacific Palisades wildfires, according to several reports.

ESPN, USA Today and local KTLA reported Friday morning that Redick’s home was one of at least 5,300 structures claimed by the ongoing fire.

Redick, 40, spoke about the wildfires on Tuesday prior to the team’s game in Dallas, saying that his family was among those forced to evacuate the Pacific Palisades area.

“I just want to acknowledge and send thoughts and prayers to everyone in Palisades right now. That’s where I live,” Redick told reporters on Tuesday prior to the Lakers’ 118-97 loss to the Mavericks. “Our family, my wife’s family, my wife’s twin sister, they’ve evacuated. I know a lot of people are freaking out right now, including my family.”

“From the sound of things, with the winds coming [on Tuesday night], I know a lot of people are scared. So, I just want to acknowledge that. Thoughts and prayers for sure, and hope everybody stays safe.”

The Lakers’ home game scheduled for Thursday night against the Charlotte Hornets was postponed due to the fires.

“We’re heartbroken for Los Angeles,” the Lakers said in a statement announcing the postponed game. “Our thoughts are with all those impacted by this unimaginable situation. And our gratitude is with the first responders and all of you who come together when we need each other the most.”

The game was one of several Los Angeles-area sporting events that were either postponed or moved this week due to the wildfires. The NFL moved the Los Angeles Rams’ home playoff game this Monday night against the Minnesota Vikings to Arizona, while the NHL’s Los Angeles Kings’ home game against the Calgary Flames on Wednesday was also postponed.

Los Angeles Clippers star Kawhi Leonard was excused from his team amid a road trip on Tuesday to return home to tend to his family and their home, which was reportedly in a high-risk area near the wildfires.

U.S. Olympic gold medalist Gary Hall Jr. reported that his Los Angeles home was lost in the wildfires on Thursday. The 10-time Olympic medalist said he believes all of his medals are believed to have been lost in the fire.
