There is growing belief that Denver Broncos can upset Buffalo Bills image

The Denver Broncos are a massive underdog as they head into Highmark Stadium to play the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. The Broncos were the last team to qualify for the playoffs while the Bills have been planning a run to the Super Bowl all season.

The Bills have Josh Allen, who is considered by many to be the MVP of the league this year. The Bills have not lost a game at home this year. The Bills have one of the league’s most potent offenses and a defense that you can’t overlook either. All of the elements are in place for this came to not be very close.

But the Broncos have overcome many obstacles to get where they are and at this stage of the season, are far ahead of any schedule that anyone would have had in place for them.

But no one really thinks they’re going to beat the Bills, right? Of course, diehard Broncos fans are going to stand behind their team and predict a victory, but there are some members of the national media, with an unbiased perspective, who see an upset brewing.

Can the Broncos upset the Bills in the Wild Card round?

A couple of well-known members of the NFL community believe it is possible.

In an appearance on The Ringer on FanDuel TV, NFL Insider Dianna Russini was asked if she could see any upsets during Wild Card weekend, and without hesitation, she said she could see the Broncos upsetting the Bills.

“There’s something about naivety and just not knowing any better and these are the types of teams that are dangerous”, said Russini. The conversation starts at about the 20:08 mark of the video.

In addition, Adam Rank of NFL.com targeted the Broncos-Bills matchup while he and some of the other columnists made their bold predictions for the first round of the playoffs.

“There weren’t many Bo-Lievers to begin the season. I, however, was on board with Bo Nix from the jump, and I’m staying here this week, despite rookie starting quarterbacks going 5-17 in road playoff games since 1950, including a mark of 0-5 since 2015. Facing the Bills in Buffalo is a tall task, but the Broncos shock the world with a HUGE upset win over the AFC’s No. 2 seed.”

It would be a monumental upset but it’s one that at least some people can see coming.
