After facing backlash over her New Year’s Eve outfit, WNBA star Angel Reese appears to have deleted her Instagram account.

The Chicago Sky ace, 22, had fans questioning her outfit choice after wearing an eye-catching mocha-colored, animal-print gown with a cut design and an extremely high leg. On Thursday, fans noticed that Reese’s Instagram page was unavailable.

Reese’s TikTok is still active, and several videos showing off the daring look have been posted. The overwhelming majority of fans’ reaction on the social media page has been positive, wishing Sky star Reese a Happy New Year as she gears up for her second season as a pro.

In her rookie year, Reese smashed rebounding records while earning All-Star honors. However, her season ended due to a hand injury, which hampered Chicago’s chances of reaching the playoffs. Reese’s intentions for 2025 were made clear on Instagram before deactivating her account.

“Two things can be true. 2025, ima keep getting finer & yall gon keep getting mad,” Reese said. Before starting the second season, Reese will begin her year playing in the new Unrivaled Women’s Basketball League. She will team up with Chelsea Gray, Brittney Sykes, Kahleah Cooper, Lexie Hull, and Azura Stevens in this three-on-three tournament.

Nola Henry, an assistant coach for the Los Angeles Sparks, will lead the team. Each player will receive a minimum of $100,000, which is more than what Reese earned in the first year of her rookie contract. “Being able to be in Miami from January to March, not having to go overseas,” Reese said after joining the league.

“Nobody wants to go overseas. A lot of us never wanna have to go overseas, but some people do have to go overseas, unfortunately, so being able to make six figures within three months, being able to be housed in Miami, just being able to get better.”

“Being able to know two great players that are starting something, I think it’s amazing,” Reese continued. “3-on-3 is something that I love to do. I haven’t been able to play competitively, but I think I can work on some of my individual skills because 3-on-3 exposes everything. So I’m excited for it.”

Unrivaled will run for eight weeks and host 30 players across six teams. It will start in the Sunshine State on Jan. 17. UConn Huskies star Paige Bueckers, expected first overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft, has also already signed up to participate in Unrivaled.

Bueckers signed a NIL deal with Unrivaled, which was started by former Huskies greats Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart.
