BREAKING NEWS: Chase Chrisley Arrested for Alleged Simple Battery in Bar Assault Incident .giang

Chase Chrisley has been arrested.

The Growing Up Chrisley alum, 28, was taken into custody on a charge of simple battery on Thursday, Jan. 9 in Atlanta, Georgia. Per police records reviewed by PEOPLE, Chrisley was booked and released on a $10,000 bond for an incident that occurred days prior on Jan. 6.

In a police report obtained by PEOPLE, officers from the Atlanta Police Department responded to a call from a local Twin Peaks Sports Bar on Jan. 6, in which the general manager “identified” Chrisley as the person who assaulted him. The report notes that Chrisley “was no longer on [the] scene” upon the officers’ arrival.

Chrisley allegedly “became really drunk” at the bar and “started to act very disrespectful and belligerent,” per the report. When the manager asked him to leave “multiple times,” Chrisley allegedly refused and later “slapped him in the face twice.” TMZ was the first to report the news.

In a statement shared with PEOPLE, his attorneys Drew Findling, Marissa Goldberg and Zack Findling of The Findling Law Firm said that “this incident has been entirely blown out of proportion.”

“Chase Chrisley had done the right thing that evening by calling a driver to take him home. He did not assault anyone,” his attorneys claimed. “Chase was trying to close out his tab and leave. We will be independently investigating the situation.”

Chase isn’t the first Chrisley to be booked into jail. His eldest brother, Kyle, has faced multiple arrests over the years, with the most recent occurring in September 2024 when he was charged with aggravated assault and resisting arrest.

Currently, their parents, Todd and Julie, are currently serving years-long sentences for bank fraud and tax evasion. Julie is slated to be released from Federal Medical Center, Lexington in March 2028 while Todd won’t get out of Federal Prison Camp, Pensacola until May 2032.

After they reported to prison in January 2023, Chase’s 27-year-old sister Savannah has been caring for their younger siblings, Chloe, 11, and Grayson, 18. Chase and Savannah have also continued to help their parents amid their imprisonment.

“Me and Chase show up for them every single day, and I am the one [of my siblings] that’s in charge of all of their legal stuff,” Savannah told PEOPLE in October 2023. “I speak to attorneys every day. I make sure they have what they need while they are in prison, and I show up for them.”

Amid his parents’ incarceration, Chase also announced his separation from ex-fiancée Emily Medders in July 2023 — less than a year after their October 2022 engagement.

His rep, Adam Ambrose, issued a statement exclusively to PEOPLE at the time: “The couple has decided to go their separate ways. Chase has nothing but love and respect for Emmy and wishes her well. Unfortunately, things didn’t work, and they are both moving on with their lives.”

Then, the tumultuous times continued in December 2024, when Chase lost his beloved French bulldog dog Lilo.

“Lilo you were the best dog i could’ve ever asked for, you saved me at a time when nothing else could! I will love you forever! Rest in peace my sweet angel,” he wrote in the heartfelt Instagram post, which included several photos of Lilo.

He is currently dating Jodi Laine Fournerat.
