Caitlin Clark has made her long-awaited appearance on the New Heights podcast after Jason Kelce admitted that “she’s the most requested guest in the history of our show”.
The Indiana Fever point guard has had an incredible first year in the WNBA, becoming the Rookie of the Year and breaking multiple records throughout her debut season. Clark has set the record for most assists in a season, most points by a rookie, and is the fastest player to reach 100 three-pointers in the league.
With her meteoric rise from being one of the most recognizable faces in college basketball to becoming Time magazine’s Athlete of the Year, the 22-year-old is on an ascension to the top and shows no signs of stopping.
The athlete has now made a highly-anticipated appearance on New Heights, with NFL legends Jason and Travis Kelce sharing their excitement at finally securing Clark on the show. In her introduction, Jason claimed that Clark was the most requested guest from listeners, as he listed her achievements in just the past year alone.
Jason said: “Alrighty, our guest today is a six-food guard from the University of Iowa. The NCAA all-time division one scoring leader, the first pick of the WNBA draft, WNBA assist leader, All-Star and 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year. She’s the most requested guest in the history of our show and the Time magazine Athlete of the Year – Miss Caitlin Clark.”
Clark admitted that she doesn’t get “excited” about much in life but noted that the podcast was “at the top of my list.” The revelation had Travis laughing, as he replied, “We made it, Jason.”
Clark is the most requested New Heights guest, a feat in itself, given the wide range of famous faces who have appeared on the show. Some of the podcast’s previous guests include ex-NFL stars Rob Gronkowski, Shannon Sharpe, and Patrick Mahomes, as well as more mainstream celebrities like Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Clark also revealed that she is a part of the Kansas City Chiefs Kingdom and admitted that Mahomes and Kelce are two of her favorite players out of the current Super Bowl champions.
The 22-year-old said: “My dad was a big Chiefs fan growing up so people think I’m like a bandwagon Chiefs fan. I’m like no, I was there before Patrick and Travis, we were ride or dies so, we’ve been big fans and now obviously all the success you guys have had has made it a lot of fun for us.”
